The City Birth Trauma Scale can be used to assess post-traumatic stress symptoms and clinical disorder (PTSD) in women, fathers or birth partners, and maternity staff who have experienced traumatic childbirth. The scale measures PTSD according to the diagnostic criteria of the DSM-5 (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
